Trend Spotting: Sari-inspired nail colors

O.P.I., guru of nail products, is bringing some much-needed Indian summer heat with its Spring/Summer 2008 India Collection Nail Lacquers. With shaadi (wedding) season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to dabble in one of this season’s 12 vibrant hues of carnation pink, orange-red, spicy gold or shimmering bronze. Or if you’re like me, splash these jewel-toned shades on your toes, pairing them with metallic gladiator sandals I’ve been eyeing, and go for a manicure in a must-have delicate shade of moonlight grey. To take the Indian style one step further, O.P.I. experts suggest using two shades of polish: one to paint the entire nail, and the other to apply pretty bindi-dots on tips. This collection also includes coordinating lipstick and lip liner in three shades. And with names like Moon Over Mumbai, Keys To My Karma and Lunch At The Delhi, this global gal is intrigued.

Welcome note

I’m so super excited about starting my blog, and writing my first post! It’s been a long time coming (my best friends can attest to how long I’ve been talking about doing this), and finally (finally!) things have fallen into place (translation: I got tired of waiting for the perfect moment to launch this. And BTW, there is no perfect moment). This blog combines my two passions: writing + all-things beauty, and I intend to blend it with a generous dose of global flavour. The tone of Press Pass Beauty is to focus on beauty news, products, trends and celebrities of the exotic variety. I feel ethnic beauty is still often overlooked in mainstream media, so my blog aims to be a platform for world beauty. And without getting too heavy, I also hope this blog is a place where you can embrace the beauty of authenticity and culture. Happy reading!
